If you want to help people, but you also have a keen commercial mind, we’re a great place to work. There’s a lot of pressure, and you’ll need stamina and resilience to cope with that. But the culture’s friendly and informal, we all pull together as a team and we’re passionate about what we do and the results we want to achieve.
Most people join us as either an Account Manager or a Candidate Consultant. Perform well and you could progress in a number of different directions, including into management roles or specialist accredited training. We tend to promote from within so we rarely advertise our more senior positions externally.
Account Manager
This is primarily about forging strong relationships with new and existing clients, making sure we meet their needs and promoting the business advantages of diversity and local recruitment. You’ll be responsible for winning and developing business, identifying employers who would benefit from our services and convincing them to work with us. To be effective, you’ll need to build both an in-depth understanding of the vacancies they need to fill and the local labour markets in which we operate.
You’ll need plenty of energy, initiative and tenacity to thrive in the hectic pace of our target-driven environment. Just as important though, is a strong team ethic as you’ll work closely with a range of colleagues, including in-branch Candidate Consultants, to deliver the right candidates for your clients’ roles.

Candidate Consultant
Our reputation rests on connecting with the right candidates. It’ll be your job to find them. More than that though, particularly if you join an at work branch, you’ll nurture them, help them overcome any barriers that might be hampering their search for a job and prepare them for the realities of working life.
Clearly a flair for building strong one-to-one relationships is important. As is the ability to gel within a team. But because you’ll also have registration targets to meet, it’s equally vital that ideas, initiative and business acumen are part of your make-up. For if candidates don’t come to us, we’ll expect you to find effective and innovative ways to reach them, forging strong links with local community groups and voluntary sector organisations.
