talent! goes exploring

We set out to discover what drives the decisions of Camden’s recruiters

Why do employers in the London borough of Camden recruit the people they do? That’s what talent! is about to discover. Having beaten off tough competition to deliver an innovative employer engagement pilot in the borough, talent! will collaborate with council departments such as Business Initiatives, Business Rates, and Labour Market and Economy, to better understand what drives the recruitment decisions of local employers. During the seven month project, commissioned by the borough as part of its Local Area Agreement, the team will carry out a recruitment needs analysis within over 100 local employers, large and small. The plan is to select six employers who will champion local recruitment by creating at least 12 jobs.

Once the project team has successfully engaged with employers, it will link with and promote the borough’s ‘Camden Working’ provider partnership. This includes the at work managed job shop at Mornington Crescent plus various IAG and training providers. As well as the evaluation report, one of the key tasks will be to form a ‘Camden Working’ business case for employers.
