It’s a win-win situation
talent! partnership lands two contracts in the Capital
Two talent!-led (delivering as at work) partnership bids have landed contracts to deliver services in London. The contracts, for Haringey in the north and Newham in the east, were awarded by the Association of London Government (ALG – now London Councils) European Social Fund (ESF) and the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund (NRF).
The £1m Newham Working Together contract unites talent!’s highly successful job brokerage abilities with the specialist skills of established training providers from the public, private and voluntary sectors. Key Partners include Newham College’s Centre for Innovation and Partnerships (CIPs), Newham Sixth Form College (NewVIC), Newtec & East London Childcare Institute, Preset and the University of East London. In addition, talent! and Partners will work closely with Jobcentre Plus offices across the borough as well as a range of local voluntary and community sector organisations.
Getting Haringey Working addresses worklessness in Haringey’s most deprived wards. Local residents who take part in the project will benefit from individual advice and guidance and an employment-focused support service. The service, to be delivered from the established at work shop-fronted office in Wood Green, will reach locations across the borough. Keeping it Simple (KIS) Training will deliver a self-employment programme from their offices in Tottenham Hale.
According to Mukesh Oza, Business & Marketing Development Manager, these two wins are great news for talent! and at work in London. “They underline our commitment to partnerships with other organisations – partnerships that are better equipped to deliver high quality employability support for workless communities. These two projects will engage with over 1,400 harder to reach residents in just under two years. And the placement of 890 people into sustainable employment or self-employment will be a huge factor in reducing unemployment in each borough.”
